Advanced Organics and Nutrients Removal Process Combined with Submerged Hollow Fiber Membrane

State-of-the-Art technology in nutrients treatment system is equipped with bioreactor composed of anoxic, anaerobic, and aerobic tanks combined with submerged hollow fiber membrane and exhausted tank, and this process guarantees high quality of treated water.

Process overview

  • Without installation of 2nd sedimentation tank, bioreactor composed of anoxic /anaerobic / aerobic / exhausted tank can operate with highly concentrated MLSS (5,000~15,000mg/L) and improve its removal efficiency.
  • Treated water which is removed of SS and E-coil can be reused without additional facilities such as sand-filter, active carbon absorption facility and disinfection facility, etc.

Process Characteristics

  • Locating anoxic tank in the front place of biological treatment process → high removal efficiency of nitrogen
  • Using submerged hollow fiber membrane instead of 2nd sedimentation tank → Stable process
  • Highly concentrated MLSS in Aerobic Tank → Efficient removal of organic matters and nutrients
  • Continual supply of Scrubbing air at a constant rate per projected unit area and Intermittent Operation (Suction pump on/off in a certain time)
  • Aerobic tank with submerged hollow fiber membrane can carry out non-powered chemical cleaning → Easy to maintain.

Highly-quality treated water
  • With the Sterapore membrane, it is possible to prevent the effluent of particles and the Washout(sludge leakage). Treated water quality can be kept under SS 1.0mg/L and Turbidity 1.0NTU.
  • The average effluent BOD will always be 1~3mg/L regardless of the fluctuating BOD loading(BOD + 100~300mg/L) of influent, and the COD removal efficiency is better than ordinary BNR.
Solve the Problems such as sludge bulking and sludge gas caused by mycosis.
  • As the membrane is used instead of the settling tank, it is possible to prevent any deterioration of effluent quality <Colon bacillus is eliminated through membrane.> deriving from the sludge bulking of microbes or pin Floc phenomenon, and block any effluent of sludge due to the generation of gas.
Highly concentrated MLSS and decrease of sludge
  • As the highly concentrated MLSS in bioreactor is maintained up to 5,000~25.000mg/L, it is possible to minimize the size of bioreactor and keep the long Solids Retention Time(SRT) and the low F/M ratio(organic loading rate).
  • Provide stable environment to Nitrification microorganism.
  • Sludge Yield is decreased by more than 50% (Yobs = 0~0.25) compared to the Standard Activated Sludge Process.
Reuse of treated water.
  • Reuse of treated water is possible to capture bacillus and E-coli. without disinfection
Economical
Relatively small footprint
  • Compared to Standard Activated Sludge Process, the required footprint will be at 70% and 60% of A20 Process. It is possible to reduce the Site Purchases and Construction Cost more than 40%.
Using efficient & economical Membrane
  • By adopting an out-in filtration method, it is possible to filter the full waste water and reduce the operation & maintenance cost and facility capacity compared to pressure filtration.
  • Improvement of the Durability & Performance of membrane using the Scrubbing Air supplied by Blower.
Easy to maintain
  • Simplify the unit process using HANT Process → Easy to control operation and Minimize operating factors
  • Remote control system → Integrated supervision and control system on treatment facilities by using an exclusive internet line.
Cost reduction by reuse of treated water
  • Enhance the wastewater up to water quality at Ⅱ grade specified in the water quality environment standard(BOD < 3mg/L)and use it as industrial water such as flush toilet water, firefighting water, cooling water and cleaning water, agricultural water, gardening water, sparkling water on the street, Chemical cleaning water inside the treatment facility, etc.
Automated Production System, Chemical resistance and long durability
  • The Long durability of membrane : SUR(7~10years) and SADF(15~20years), , highly efficient flux using highly efficient hollow fiber membrane, high tensile strength, Use of high quality membrane material including chemical resistance such as of PE and PVDF.
